I don't know a great deal of the details of the dispute but I wonder if it is the right decision to go on strike. In my experience it always costs the strikers an awful lot of money and it takes many years to recover those losses even if you win the strike. However, there is also an argument that there are times when all negotiating routes have been exhausted and " Management " are imposing worse conditions or pay upon you. If an impasse has been reached and the imposition takes place ...

I was looking at the passenger stats for Teesside the other day and thinking how horrific they were when I stopped and thought, what do they actually mean?. For a start most people who set off from Teesside actually come back so the figures could be halved at a stroke. Are these fare paying passengers? I know that the Forces flights are counted so they can't be. If not then are overnighting aircrew counted?. Then there are the private planes coming and going all the time.Is the pilot counted ...

I am in a good place at the moment and I have no issues.

I heard this from a so called celebrity recently on TV. ( I don't get out much in the bad weather )

Which place was she in and can I join her? Is it free or is it available only on a 5 star all inclusive break for very rich and affected people?

Is it possible that only people who are insanely rich and name their children after places or anagrams use this language or has anyone else used this ridiculous speak in "real" life?

Lots of fanfares but no agreement as yet. The Canadians appear to know what they are doing and also have a track record. The problem may be that Peel will not allow them to put their strategies and ideas into place without tinkering with them. You have to be brave to totally withdraw from something you have worked for years to bring to fruition especially if the new ideas are not what you wanted ...

Just noticed that today's delays are down to a broken down Aircraft De-Icing rig. I was wondering if the "Night Stop" Aircraft are still Hangered as they used to be. I recall going down to London on the Midland 331 (DC9) some years ago and our journey to the Airport on a very frosty morning had us wondering if we would have a delayed departure. However we arrived at the Airport to see the Aircraft being towed out of the Hanger around to the Apron for an on time departure.

To avoid any confusion, and to answer a couple of earlier queries, the number of terminal pax shown each month is the total number of commercial airline passengers arriving AND departing from a UK reporting airport.

So depart MME to Spain or Amsterdam and fly back into MME again you'll be counted twice, at MME.

As Kerry Quinn stated in the Northern Echo last week, she's expecting to announce a new scheduled service by a new operator in the next few days.

What do people think this will be?

I think the emphasis on 'new scheduled operator' hints that it won't be Ryanair, bmibaby or bmi.

Personally, I think one of the following are most likely:

Aer Arrann to Dublin

Jet2 to Tenerife

Jet2 to Cyprus

Jet2 to Malaga

Wizz returning to somewhere in Poland

Flybe to Gatwick

I see from the movements website that our airport is closed due to ice. This is a total disgrace as the writer of the item says on the website. In these conditions you would think they would make sure it is open as much as possible for the benefit of it's FEW passengers. In my view there is also a safety factor for aircraft looking for diversion airfields if say LBA or Newcastle have problems. I see that Newcastle was closed for a while yesterday, but apparently they worked quickly to re open. ...

On Friday 23rd October, myself and two other members of the team visited the aircraft with a British Airways engineer from Manchester to assess the state of the airframe. If it's deemed unsafe or beyond restoration, then no museum will touch it and it's probably not worth the effort.

A few of us turned up for a base visit to Linton yesterday organised byDave Thompson. Not a great day weather wise. As expected plenty of Tucano's. Dave Anderson bagged his only outstanding Tuc, which i think as 293. Only visitor as Bae 146 CC3 ZE 700 carrying defensive aids at rear. Thanks to Dave Thompson for the organisation. Hopefully he may publish a full list as i saw him scribbling away during the day.
